Porto Alegre
Porto Alegre is a capital inhabited by 1,5 million descendants of 25 ethnic groups. Descendants of Italian, German and Portuguese immigrants that come from the countryside of the state form most of the population. Among the inhabitants there are also traces of Syrian, Lebanese, Jewish, Japanese, African, Chinese, Polish, Russian, Belgium, Swedish and other people.
Located strategically between the Rio de Janeiro / São Paulo axis and the capitals Buenos Aires and Montevideo, Porto Alegre can be considered the capital of MERCOSUL, being the main trade center at the south of Latin America.
